Hi everyone! I (Hannah Bae - South Korea '07) recently contributed to a book that came out on Oct. 2! The book is called "(Don't) Call Me Crazy" (Algonquin Young Readers), and it's a nonfiction anthology all about mental health that's geared toward young adults. In my essay, I discuss how my Korean American family struggled with mental health issues and how I learned to cope. There is also a PiA shoutout :-) I'm one of the 33 contributors that represent a truly diverse range of voices discussing an important topic with sensitivity, humor and heart.
I'll be joining a fellow contributor, Lisa Jakub (of "Mrs. Doubtfire" and "Independence Day" fame), for a book event in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 14, and I'd like to welcome fellow PiAers, their friends and family to join. Here are the details:
Who: Hannah Bae and Lisa Jakub
When: Nov. 14, 7-8:30pm
Where: Upshur Street Books, 827 Upshur St NW, Washington, DC 20011
This is a free event open to the public, including teens and young adults. The book is available for preorder (indie bookseller and Amazon).
