In very exciting news, our very own Hannah Bae (South Korea '07) recently contributed to a book that's coming out in October! The book is called "(Don't) Call Me Crazy" (Algonquin Young Readers), and it's an anthology all about mental health that's geared toward young adults. In her essay, she discuss how her Korean American family struggled with mental health issues and how she learned to cope. There is also a PiA shoutout :-) Hannah is one of the 33 contributors that represent a truly diverse range of voices discussing an important topic with sensitivity, humor and heart.
Hannah, her editor, and three other contributors will be holding a book launch in NYC on Oct. 8, and welcome fellow PiAers, their friends and family to join. Here are the details:
Who: Kelly Jensen (editor), Dior Vargas, Heidi Heilig, Christine Heppermann, and Hannah Bae!
When: Oct. 8, 6 pm
Where: Books of Wonder Uptown, 217 W 84th St, New York, NY)
This is a free event open to the public, including teens and young adults. The book is available for preorder (indie bookseller and Amazon).
