In October and November each year, the PiA staff hits the road (and plane, ferry, motorbike, tuk-tuk, Shinkansen, etc.) to Asia to visit our fellows and partners at over 80 host organizations across 20 countries, and catch up with scores of PiA alumni in the region. This annual site visit trip is crucial to the ongoing strength of our program and community, not only as an important exercise in due diligence, but also as a relationship-building endeavor. What sets PiA apart from our peer programs is the fact that every year without fail, the PiA staff shows up in classrooms, conference rooms, roadside warungs and local watering holes across Asia to offer professional development to our fellows, glean feedback from our partners, raise glasses of Bintang and baijiu with our alumni -- and of course, pose for lots and LOTS of photos. But those selfies -- and plane tickets! -- don't come free, and we can use all the help we can get in raising the funds necessary to support the staff's travel to Asia.
